Derivation of a Process Network for the Jacobium Processor

چکیده
Application domain specific processors are becoming more and more appealing because of their peculiar feature of flexibility in terms of number of algorithms which one single architecture can execute and also in terms of the possible computational improvement due to the increase of parallelism. The specific domain chosen is the family of Jacobi algorithms which are often used in the field of adaptive beam-forming of radar signals. The architecture chosen should be weakly programmable. The idea is to derive in a systematic way a control program that is downloaded on a simulator of the processor to obtain quantitative information about the performance on the execution of the application domain. Moreover, some techniques to enhance, from a qualitative point of view, the parallelism are applied, suggested by the particular structure of the Jacobi algorithms.

| This paper presents the architecture of Jacobium processing elements. The Jacobium is a dataaow processor aiming at high speed execution of algorithms where Cordic operations play a dominant role. To achieve high throughputs the processing elements are equiped with a deep oating point Cordic pipeline, on-chip multiport memory to buuer operands and results, and several high speed communication...
متن کاملProposed Feature Selection for Dynamic Thermal Management in Multicore Systems
Increasing the number of cores in order to the demand of more computing power has led to increasing the processor temperature of a multi-core system. One of the main approaches for reducing temperature is the dynamic thermal management techniques. These methods divided into two classes, reactive and proactive. Proactive methods manage the processor temperature, by forecasting the temperature be...
متن کاملA High Performance Parallel IP Lookup Technique Using Distributed Memory Organization and ISCB-Tree Data Structure
The IP Lookup Process is a key bottleneck in routing due to the increase in routing table size, increasing traıc and migration to IPv6 addresses. The IP address lookup involves computation of the Longest Prefix Matching (LPM), which existing solutions such as BSD Radix Tries, scale poorly when traıc in the router increases or when employed for IPv6 address lookups. In this paper, we describe a ...

متن کاملDouble-Frontier Analysis Approach for Weight Derivation in Analytical Hierarchy Process
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) combined with Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) provides Data Envelopment Analytic Hierarchy Process (DEAHP) methodology for weight derivation and aggregation. A double-frontier analysis approach is proposed in this article to derive priorities in AHP. The proposed method combines DEA variable weight with AHP from both optimistic and pessimistic views to obtain th...
